A press-conference devoted to the first professional Ukrainian ‘a cappella’ clip of the song “Shedrik” has taken place today. The clip has been recorded in the picturesque park “Sofievka”, which is located in Uman, in the summer time. The clip “Shedrik” was included into the new edition of the Christmas album «Joy to the World». This album was issued by company COMP Music/EMI. The release of the album is scheduled for December 18th.

In July 2006 the recording company “Comp Music” and a capella jazz sextet “ManSound” have signed the contract on long-term cooperation. The first result of this cooperation will appear in Ukrainian shops starting August 18th. This will be the single “Ukrainian national hymn” in original “Man Sound’s” arrangement, which is dedicated to the 15th Ukrainian Independence Day anniversary. The contract.
The contract between one of the oldest Ukrainian recording companies and “the wonderful jazz sextet”, (that’s how they are called by critics), will no doubt, become a new experience and obviously an important step for both sides. . COMP MUSIC/EMI Ukraine.
“Comp Music” exclusively presents in Ukraine the catalogue of the world-known corporation EMI, which is one of the four World’s greatest recording companies. The company also actively develops its own local (Ukrainian) catalogue, where such singers as Ruslana, Evgenia Vlasova, Mad Heads XL, Krihitka Cahes, Rosava and many others are presented. Few months ago “Comp Music” has signed the contracts with such Ukrainian jazz groups “Skhid Side” and jazz pianist Natalia Lebedeva. “ManSound” is a first A Cappella group in the Ukrainian catalogue “Comp Music”. The company spreads CDs all over Ukraine and promotes Ukrainian singers abroad actively. “Man Sound” will have an additional opportunity to be heard by western producers not only at the festivals. “Comp Music Publishing” presents in Ukraine the greatest universal publisher “EMI Music Publishing”. The single consists of three versions of “The Hymn of Ukraine” in a modern jazz arrangement. The first one is traditional for the group – A Cappella, the second one is instrumental, for those patriots, to whom A Cappella alone may seem not enough and the third one is a karaoke version. Spring concert – “RAZZSOLNIK” of sextet ManSound will be held on the 24th May in October Palace.
Beginning at 19:00
“RAZZSOLNIK” – is a solo concert of the group that for the first time will take place in such a big concert hall. Obviously, “ManSound” has decided to leave frames of chamber halls and with every new performance the size of the hall increases!
Moreover, the band is going to fill this concert up with not only superb sound, as usual, but also with bright visual effects and elements of a show.
The concert program consists from two parts. World famous jazz hits, Gospel, Italian hits (including songs of Adriano Chelentano and Andrea Bochelli), Beatles hits in original arrangements of “ManSound” are going to be performed in the first part. The ManSound’s arrangements of Ukrainian, Jewish, emigrant and Russian folk music are going to be presented in the second part of the concert.
The participation of star-guests is going to be the highlight of this concert:
• Oksana Bilozir - the National Singer of Ukraine - is going to perform with the band some compositions from the future joint album (Lemkivski songs arranged by Vladimir Mikhnovetsky).
• The National Singer of Ukraine, Valentina Stepova – the opera divine who astonishes with the beauty of the voice and unusual combination of different musical styles in her repertoire such as opera, jazz and rock. She is going to perform Andrea Bochelli’s and Sara Brightman’s song “Time to say goodbye” with ManSound.
• The steper Vladimir Shpudeiko who gives incredible energy of dance in any concert of the band.
The Ceremony of Ukrainian award “Showbiz-2005” took place in the National Ukrainian Opera. ManSound has been invited as nominee for the award “The best jazz group of the year” with two other jazz groups.

All this have happened but THERE WAS NO awarding of jazz nomination, it WAS just NOT ANNOUNCED! Either the organizers have forgotten about it, or the “more important” people needed a statuette – it is still a secret.
Having looked through the results of voting we’ve got aware that ManSound was a winner. In this situation we do not feel neither pleasure, nor the serious attitude to this glamorous award (the triumph of a plywood pop-music above jazz).

ManSound took part in the jazz festival DoDj-2006 for the second time. The festival was held on the April 12th in Donetsk. We are thankful to the audience for a warm reception and standing ovations and grateful to the founders for their great organization.
This is the third festival where ManSound has shared the stage with Hiram Bullock - famous guitar player from the USA. It was also pleasant to meet the group Tok-Tok-Tok from Germany and to hear a lot of talented young men and women who were performing on the jazz concert. ManSound on the festival DoDj-2006. ManSound will perform on the 2nd June, 2006 during the EEMC (Eastern Europe Music Convention) Jazz Concert in the Belosselsskih-Belosersskih Palace in St. Petersburg.
ManSound has recorded song for the Oksana Bairak’s film “Aurora”, dedicated to the 20-years disaster at Chernobyl’s NPS. Eric Roberts and Dmitriy Haratyan are starring in the film. It is going to be represented on the Cannae’s festival soon.

The short-termed visit of ManSound to Siberia has happened recently. During these two days guys have visited two cities and have given 5 concerts. This is a kind of band’s record.
We are grateful to Anatoliy Berestov for his help in the organization of the tour and congratulate Big-Band jazz-club Helikon under his management on the 10-years anniversary!

The glamorous party dedicated to the opening of Italian boutique KITON took place on the 2nd of March in the “Mandarin plaza”. Iosif Kobzon and ManSound were the guests of the evening. Group has prepared some Italian songs, including the hit of Andrea Bochelli “Con te partiro” (Time to say goodbye), specially to this occasion.
