How did you join ManSound?
I had worked for 7 years in one vocal band in Odessa before coming to MS. Then, Sasha Egorov recommended me to the band’s leader, Vladimir Mihnovetsky, and I was accepted. This was the totally new level that I had strived for.

Your role in ManSound
I am a member of the group and a soloist.

About the group
For the last several years, ManSound has been a part of my life that I have dedicated my work, attention and love to. That is what MS means to me. I dare to hope we are making something that makes people take note of the band.

Your Favorite music
I like different kinds of music – classical jazz, contemporary performers; sometimes I’m in the mood to listen to classical music. Rachel Farrell, and others who are teachers for anyone who does vocals - Stevie Wonder, George Benson, Al Jarro. I enjoy Mariah Carey, and Christina Aguilera’s new album.

Your occupation outside of ManSound
I try to spend as much time as possible at home with my family. I love my city and go home whenever I can. Music takes up the biggest chunk of my spare time; I’m always trying to improve.

About work
When we’re working, we concentrate and every minute being in this group brings things you appreciate.

Your ambitions
I hope I realize my career completely in MS, but maybe one of the guys can see something in me that I haven’t and it will help me develop. I think I give myself completely to my occupation. Like anyone else, I would say I have healthy ambitions, but who would believe it? A Grammy? Yes, but we have to face things realistically. Well, no, a Grammy isn’t exactly a healthy ambition . . .

About the group
We are all links in a chain, and all inseparable. Our sound, our work, everything depends on our collaboration. I like working together, further more, I believe many musicians would dream of working in such a band. It’s interesting to be around each other when we’re not working, also. During our tours, we can let ourselves relax. We can break away from daily worries and be people who just like football, who talk about our families and not about work and this time unites us.

The other members of the group about Vladimir
“He is a great vocalist. I learn a lot from him and have learned a lot already. I always listen to him.”

“He is a phenomenal professional, divinely gifted; he is subtle, easy going and warmhearted.”

“Yuriy is extraordinarily talented and knows the art of vocals better than any of us. In soul and gospel, he is the most well read and ‘well listened’. And on top of that, he is a pianist.”

“He is a very nice person, even tempered and worldly wise.”
